Academic Programs: Overview

The College of Nursing is a fully accredited component of the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. Providing nursing education since 1955, the College of Nursing constitutes a vital resource for the state of New Mexico.

Some of the specially designed offerings at the College of Nursing are online degrees, family nurse practitioner and nurse-midwifery programs to train practitioners who will work with rural and under-served populations, and selected dual-degree programs. PhD & some of our Master's concentrations, such as nursing education, nursing administration, and community health nursing, are accessible to local and rural students via the Internet. These and other innovative programs complement the College's traditional programs to form a curriculum that is accessible, responsive, and pertinent to the changing environment in health care and the lives of students.
