College of Nursing Receives Hearst Grant for PhD Students

January 5, 2016

The Hearst Foundation has awarded the College of Nursing a $150,000 grant to provide scholarships and developmental activities for students in the PhD program. The funding will make available $10,000 in scholarships each year for up to three years, which will help to address the shortage of nursing faculty by enabling students to progress more quickly through the doctoral program and enter faculty roles sooner. The grant will also help to provide developmental opportunities, such as traveling to a research conference and providing presentations by experts on grant writing, leadership, and other valuable topics at the College.
