Dr. Sally Cohen Chosen as Distinguished Institute of Medicine Nurse Scholar-in-Residence

Dr. CohenAssociate Professor Sally Cohen, PhD, RN, FAAN, has been selected as the 2014–2015 Distinguished Nurse Scholar-in-Residence at the Institute of Medicine. Only one senior nurse scholar is selected from eligible institutions per year for this prestigious program, which provides the opportunity for outstanding nurse leaders to be involved in health policy development at the national level. As a Scholar-in-Residence, Dr. Cohen will work on child health policy, an area in which she has made significant contributions, focusing on childhood bullying. In collaboration with other health and nurse experts, she will draft innovative policy approaches and best practices for bullying prevention. Dr. Cohen is Virginia P. Crenshaw Endowed Chair and Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Nursing and Health Policy Collaborative at UNM.
