CON Celebrates First Chair: The Virginia P. Crenshaw Endowed Chair in Nursing

November 23, 2012

The College of Nursing celebrated the philanthropic spirit and thoughtful vision of dean and professor emerita, Dr. Virginia P. Crenshaw on November 1, 2012.   The special event dedicated the very first endowed chair in the College of Nursing!

Dr. Sally S. Cohen is the holder of The Virginia P. Crenshaw Endowed Chair in Nursing.  Dr. Cohen is Associate Professor and Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Nursing and Health Policy Collaborative in the College of Nursing.

The Collaborative prepares nurse fellows in its PhD Program to be leaders in health policy advocacy, analysis, and research.   Its faculty and fellows engage in policy research to address the health care needs of America’s most vulnerable populations.

Dr. Crenshaw would applaud the unique interdisciplinary focus, and the College of Nursing is proud to have the opportunity to carry on her spirit of nursing education and leadership.

Congratulations to Dr. Sally S. Cohen, Dean Nancy Ridenour and the UNM College of Nursing!  Click here to see more photos from the event_
