The Student Nurses’ Association is an organization that empowers student nurses to explore educational and employment opportunities all while benefiting their community. We aid in the development of the whole person, his/her professional role, and his/her responsibility for healthcare of people in all walks of life.
SNA members have the opportunity to earn points by attending SNA functions. These points can be used by active members for a Level 4 Auction or Banquet, provided by SNA. The graduating members will vote on which event they would like. See SNA points sheet for more details.
There is a one-time membership fee of $25 to join the UNM SNA chapter. Membership can be obtained by attending any one of our SNA meetings and completing an application. If you are unable to attend a meeting, there are applications located outside of the SNA office (room 344). Complete the application and place it, along with your membership dues, in an envelope and drop it in the SNA lock box to the left of the door. Applications will not be accepted until UNM SNA membership dues have been paid.
It is mandatory to join the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA)*. You may join online at www.nsna.org. An annual membership is $25; NSNA accepts credit cards, or you may send in a check/money order. Once you register, you will receive a membership number. You may either print out your confirmation number or wait until you receive your membership card in the mail. A copy of either form must be presented to any UNM SNA officer or dropped in the lock box outside Rm 344.
