The UNM College of Nursing has initiated a comprehensive plan that will help guarantee your success in nursing school and on the NCLEX (the National Council of Nursing Exam). Over the course of 4 terms, students take four HESI exams; personalized recommended remediation is provided based on your test results. Remediation may be required for low scoring students. All the tests are administered on-line in a proctored setting.

Incoming students take the HESI A2 test which includes reading comprehension, math learning style, and personality style assessment. Results from these exams are used to identify students most likely to benefit from remediation, and to recommend study strategies based on your learning style. This test takes approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours and will be administered on the same day you attend orientation.

The A2 exam will be given on January 6th at 7:30-9:30 am

Note: More information about the HESI A2 is in the Orientation Packet.

This exam will be given on the day of orientation.

The UNM Schedule of offerings subject to change depending upon faculty resources and student enrollment needs. See UNM Catalog and UNM Schedule for further Information.
