
On Thursday, February 21, 2013, the College of Nursing hosted a reception honoring Dr. Amy Levi as the Leah L. Albers Professor in Midwifery. This professorship will support Dr. Levi as well as her research, national and international professsional travel, and educational advancement within the field of midwifery. Dr. Albers has been a longtime mentor and role model for Dr. Levi. The Leah L. Albers Professorship in Midwifery was created by Dr. Albers’ brother and sister in law, Paul and Leigh Ann Albers, to honor her stellar career in midwifery and her 20 year tenure at the College of Nursing. Dr. Levi completed her MSN and PhD in Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania and was a clinical professor at the University of California at San Francisco for seven years before coming to UNM in 2012. Her career in midwifery has taken her to Guatemala, Pakistan and Malawi, Africa. We are extremely proud to count Amy as one of our own!

The UNM College of Nursing honored its 2012 Alumni Award recipients on Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Student Union Building. LuAnn Wosick was presented with the Distinguished Alumni Award and Dr. Cynthia Nuttall was presented with the New Alumni Award. Many family, friends, alums, faculty and staff gathered to celebrate the wonderful accomplishments of these amazing alumnae!
