Our Campus

The UNM College of Nursing

The UNM College of Nursing occupies three floors of the College of Nursing/ College of Pharmacy building located within the UNM Health Sciences Center campus. The building houses nursing classrooms and seminar rooms, faculty offices, administration, the Office of Student Services, and our student organization offices. Adjacent to the College of Nursing building is the Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center (HSLIC) which houses the Health Sciences Campus Registrar’s Office and the Office of Financial Aid.

The College of Nursing also occupies space at 1650 University Boulevard, just northwest of the North Campus and the Nursing/Pharmacy building. 1650 University houses faculty offices, our PhD program, and some central administrative offices.

Health Sciences Center Campus

The Health Sciences Center is comprised of the College of Nursing, School of Medicine, College of Pharmacy, and the Allied Health Departments. Clinical facilities include the University of New Mexico Hospital (including a neonatal intensive care unit, burn unit, and a Level 1 Trauma Center), a nationally recognized Cancer Research and Treatment Center, University of New Mexico Children’s Hospital, Carrie Tingley Hospital (a children’s rehabilitation hospital), a mental health center, and a children’s psychiatric hospital.

The Domenici Center for Health Sciences Education serves all academic programs on the UNM Health Sciences Campus: Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, Health Professions, Public Health programs, and Biomedical Sciences. The Domenici Center incorporates state-of-the-art classroom technology to facilitate and enhance interdisciplinary education and is a focal point of the Health Sciences Center Campus. HSC Students have 24-hour proximity ("prox") card access to the Student Lounge in the east building and to the seminar and group study rooms in the northeast building with their Student ID badge. The Interprofessional Healthcare Simulation Center (IHSC) at the Domenici Center contains a mock community pharmacy, sterile/nonsterile compounding areas, simulated in-patient rooms, a drop-in skills lab, examination rooms for assessment, simulation and procedure rooms, and debriefing rooms. The Domenici Center will also house a work-out facility beginning Fall 2016.
