Dr. Roper received his PhD in Nursing from the University of Arizona in Tucson, his MS from Georgia State University in Atlanta, and his ADN from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. He has been in clinical practice for over 20 years, primarily in rural, frontier, and urban underserved populations in the Deep South and on the west coast ranging from Alaska to the Arizona-Mexico border. Dr. Roper’s clinical and research interests include health care systems, rural health, clinical decision-making, Native American health, homeless health, marginalized populations, and medico-legal consulting. His current research includes study of the use of Project ECHO in advance practice nursing training. He has a special interest in complex chronic disease management and inter-professional education.
