Dr. Hernandez joined the University of New Mexico College of Nursing in 2013 as an Assistant Professor with his research focused on military service members and veterans.   His areas of clinical experience include intensive care, medical/surgical, trauma, and telemetry Nursing.  He was commissioned as an officer in 1997 and continues his service in the Air Force Reserves.

Dr. Hernandez received a BSN and MSN from Northwestern State University of Louisiana and a PhD in Nursing from the University of New Mexico in 2012.
